• The three-day violence between Israel and Palestine ended with a ceasefire mediated by Egypt late Sunday. As the truce holds on Monday, Israel reopened crossings to Gaza, and the territory’s only power plant resumed operation. The attacks killed 44 Palestinians, including civilians as well as two commanders of the militant Islamic Jihad group.

• Israel announced Sunday that it killed a senior Islamic Jihad commander in a crowded Gaza refugee camp, the second such targeted attack since it launched its high-stakes military offensive against the militant group on Friday. Two other militants and five civilians were also killed in the attack, bringing the Palestinian death toll to 31 since the start of the Israeli offensive on Friday.

• Israeli forces killed three Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, Palestinian officials said, with Palestinian Islamic Jihad identifying two of them as its gunmen. The gunmen reportedly fired at the undercover police who entered the Jenin refugee camp to arrest a suspect wanted for what Israeli forces described as "terrorist activity".
